Agnes Howell Ferguson, “View along Rock River,” Oil on Board, c. 20th Century

Painting

The Rock River winds through the middle of the scene from the right in this painting. Sloping hills surround the river on both sides. Vibrant fall foliage in red, orange, yellow, and green blankets the immediate foreground. A light blue sky, accented in yellows, glows on the horizon. Agnes Ferguson had a show in the Eagle’s Nest Art Gallery from October 27-November 3, 1978. She donated this painting to the Eagle’s Nest Art Gallery at the time.
